Amazing Grace

by Keith Snyder
(Houghton, MI USA)

Amazing Grace was the song on the first DVD I bought to learn how to play (I don't remember the title). Turns out it was a bit too basic, so I sent it to my dad, who is thinking about learning. The first song on the more intermediate DVD was Blue Moon, on one of Jim Beloff's instructional DVDs. I wanted to learn it so I could sing it to my grandkids, who for quite a while were the only ones besides God who got to hear me play and sing.

I suppose the most difficult part was how the chord changes switched order in the chorus. They seemed more comfortable in the verse, especially the Dmin7. But it worked out! Now I can finger that chord shape quite easily.
